COMMUNITY OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD     CGS

The CGS Sisters in Malaysia were formerly a part of the Community of the Companions of Jesus the Good Shepherd in the UK.  They became an autonomous community in 1978.  Their Rule is based on that of St Augustine and their ministry is mainly parish work.

In October 2000, the Sisters moved to Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah, and have settled in at Likas, just opposite to Christ Church. On 25 April 2006, the Venerable Albert Vun Cheong Fui was consecrated and installed as the fifth Diocesan Bishop of Sabah.  He has appointed Ven. John Yeo, the Rector of Christ Church, Likas, to be our chaplain.  The Diocesan project of building a new Community House has been completed, and occupied in November 2007.  It has a spacious ground in front with cool breezes from Likas Bay beyond.  There are rooms for visitors and enquirers to Religious Life.

In Kota Kinabalu, the Community, with the help of the associates, see the need to supply wafers to the Diocese and to gather the associates to pray for the Diocese.
